Why Chose a German Shepherd from Us??.

"Bringing You Only The Finest German Shepherds"

A lot of time, effort and hard work goes into raising a litter of pups when done correctly!
It’s not just the Dam having the litter and caring for it until they are ready to go.  Most of it is up to ME and I’m tied to the litter, like any new mother, for the next 6 to 8 weeks. It’s critical that someone other than the Dam (Mother) be close by. I stay with the Dam making sure that the whelping area is clean and dry after each puppy is born, and that the temperature stays constant 86 – 88 F. I put the pups that are smaller at birth on the teats several times daily to insure everyone gets their fair share with mom. This helps to insure a uniform litter. We socialize our puppies beginning the day after birth with the Bio Sensor (Super Dog) Program. As the pups grow, we provide interactions with toys, other animals, and people of all ages. We carefully expose them to new places, noises and smells so that they gain confidence. This early socialization helps them grow into secure happy adults and is extremely important!

At  2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age puppies are wormed with two types of high quality wormers, to be certain that they are free of intestinal parasites. Puppies get their first combination 5-way vaccine (including Parvo and Distemper) at 5 or 6 weeks. Remember, this first set of 3, booster shots, ONLY protects the puppy for you to get this puppy home. New puppies should NEVER be socialized outside the family home. The next set of shots is due 3 or 4 weeks after the first, and this puts minimal protection on the puppy; allowing you to socialize with friend’s dogs and homes that you know 100% have been vaccinated and are healthy. The last set of boosters including rabies, are done in another 4 weeks. Your puppy is now protected, and is able to go to the park, where unknown dogs have been.

At 7 weeks our puppies are introduced to a leash and collar and ready to go to their new homes providing that someone will be with them 24/7, otherwise shortly thereafter!

This is how I do things and I’m very proud of what I have accomplished and the puppies we have produced here at Blackjack’s German Shepherds. To assume that a dog can simply have puppies by themselves without any assistance is not only dangerous but just plain “Stupid”

This is my passion, I love it. I will do it right; or I won’t do it at all…. Thank you for your time and interest in this fabulous breed..
